According to the expert analysis of doctors and researchers a chronic cough is a cough which lasts more than four weeks in children and eight weeks in adults. Occasional coughing is helpful for the throat as it helps to clear the respiratory system from irritants, unwanted fluids, foreign particle, microbes, and residual food particles and so on. But if it lasts for a longer period of time, a proper medical attention is very much necessary. The complications arising due to chronic cough are headache, excessive sweating, dizziness, loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence), fractured ribs, passing out (syncope), body pain, and so on. Cough is often caused airways or due to change in climate, initiating from the nose, extended to alveoli. It is very essential to treat the cough in the budding stage, if it is ignored it could end up resulting into chronic cough.
